Original papercutting, Edition 1/2
This is an original design, edition one of two, hand-cut papercutting of a mermaid sitting on a rock with her tail floating behind her in the water. I designed this papercutting from photographs I took and sketches I made, and I cut it by hand with an x-acto knife.
This piece is matted to 11"x14". The double mat is pale blue and olive green, the cutting itself is done in a white cold-press watercolor paper, and the background behind the cutting is a hand-painted original watercolor painting in ocean colors- greens, blues, browns, and gray. The watermark is on the photos only, not on the actual piece.
