I don't know about other yoginis out there, but I have become quite fond of feeling a yoga mat under my feet. The sheer instant my soles touch the rubber of the mat, regardless of the clutter of my thoughts and emotions at that very moment, I remember to breathe. And with that first deep, long breath my mind becomes spacious again, and all of a sudden I remember that peace is within. In more than five years of yoga practice, I discovered tadasana to be one of the most powerful asanas that one has access to in an endless number of situations, when a full hour and a half of practice is simply not possible or the space is limited for other postures. I have found myself reconnecting with my breath with the help of tadasana at concerts (mostly waiting for Dave Matthews ;D), airports, my daughter's tennis practice. But there are those moments when sitting on a chair is the only present option. In those times I have caught myself daydreaming of my mat. Simply visualizing it under my feet helped me stay connected with my breath, therefore to remain planted in the present moment. The idea of creating a bracelet made out of yoga mat material has come to me in such a moment, when I realized that a tiny little scrap could act as a reminder to constantly fill my entire being with oxygen.

This particular item is made from a 1mm wide strip of durable lightweight eco-friendly 3mm thick mat (new & unused), in acai color, displaying a handcrafted PMC silver tag stamped on which three tiny hearts rest. Tag is held in place by recycled sari yarn. Finished with sterling silver crimp ends and an open heart lobster clasp. A 2" chain makes it adjustable to fit wrists from 6 1/2 to 9 inches around. At the end of the chain a tiny moonstone completes this piece.

Could be made in the following other colors: moss green, turquoise blue, charcoal, and heart red.
