My favorite thing about this doll is her amazingly delicate, detailed hands and feet: ten fingers, ten toes, each separately sewn around a padded interior skeleton (feels like a wire armature). The sewing is done painstakingly by hand. The hands and feet appear to be covered with the same silk fabric as the doll's face, while the rest of the body looks like cotton muslin. The hands and feet are soft stuffed; the rest of the body is stuffed with something that feels crunchy and coarse, like straw. The clothing is sewn tightly around the body and cannot easily be removed (I pushed the skirt up to get a photo of the legs, but otherwise left it alone). I think this may be a one-of-a-kind handmade doll, as I have never seen one quite like this before and she has a very unusual look.
This pearl of the Orient needs a new home and would love to go to yours! She would make a beautiful addition to any collection of dolls.

You can see a "sneak preview" of one of my other dolls in the final photo of this listing (check out that shifty glance the Asian doll is exchanging with her French flapper friend Vera!). I have many more bisque, composition and boudoir dolls to list in the coming weeks. This link will show you all of my toy listings:

This is an attractive and very decorative doll, but she does show her age. The embroidered fabric on her coat has some thinning/delicate spots, and the entire doll has a slightly faded/dingy patina (I have not tried to do any sort of cleaning). As you can see from my photos, there are two small spots on the doll's face with slight fabric damage.
This doll measures about 25.5 inches long/tall from head to foot.
I live in Canada, and will be shipping via Canada Post. I apologize for their high rates! I will refund any overcharge on shipping over $1 -- I'm not out to make money on shipping fees. Your package will be carefully wrapped, with plenty of cushioning and moisture protection. I will use a sturdy outer box. I am happy to combine shipping on multiple purchases whenever possible.
US BUYERS: By default I will send this to the US by Expedited mail. Expedited costs a flat rate of $29 and includes tracking and full insurance. Canada Post's delivery estimate is 4 to 6 business days. Under some circumstances and by request, I will consider mailing this package to the US by Tracked Packet mail. This service is cheaper - only $17 - and includes tracking. The catch is that this service includes insurance coverage ONLY up to a value of $100 CAD - the rest would be at your own risk. CP's delivery estimate for Tracked Packet is 6 business days.
CANADIAN BUYERS: Expedited parcel post within Canada will be a flat rate of $19. This price includes tracking and insurance. I will often be able to combine shipping on multiple purchases within Canada for only a few dollars more.
EUROPEAN & AUSTRALIAN BUYERS: I recommend XPresspost International shipping for this item. It is costly - shipping to the U.K. and most countries in Europe should be approximately $115 - but the service includes full insurance coverage, tracking, and an on-time delivery guarantee (4 - 5 business days for most places). By default I will use XPresspost.
Under some circumstances and by request, I will consider mailing this package overseas by Tracked Packet mail. This service is cheaper - only $48 - and includes tracking. The catch is that this service includes insurance coverage ONLY up to a value of $100 CAD - the rest would be at your own risk. CP's delivery estimate for Tracked Packet is 7 business days.
