Hand wash in cool water using a delicates soap such as Eucalan, Woolite, or Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo (really!), and lay flat to dry.
All my work is done in a smoke-free but cat-friendly home. While this particular cat is not prone to playing with yarn, her hair (as any pet owner knows) does occasionally stray.
