Most nights after supper we have a little family dance party. We dance to all sorts of music but recently there has been a bit of a robot theme. We do the Robo Boogie with the Flight of the Conchords and rock out with Mr. Roboto. It's no wonder that a dancing robot found its' way into my line.
It started as a shirt, for my little dancing robots and then, at the suggestion of a customer and friend, became a napkin. A brilliant idea, I think.
- - Print - -
The print is made with two original lino cut blocks (totaling about 5x7 inches) that were drawn, carved and printed by me. The ink is fabric-safe, water-based and non-toxic. All the colors are hand-mixed by me and can never be replicated perfectly. This particular set has the robots printed in four different, earthy shades - red, blue, green and purple.
Since the set is made to order, I can accommodate different color requests.
Each napkin is printed individually and by hand, some variation from print-to-print is to be expected (and embraced!!!).
- - Napkin - -
The robots are printed on napkins that were sewn by me from 100% cotton, Osnaburg fabric. Its' unbleached, flecked appearance gives it a relaxed, natural appearance.
The napkin measures roughly 18 x 18 inches.
- - Care Instructions - -
This item can be machine washed and dried, however the colors will last longest if washed on cold and line-dried.
