Originally released by Knoll in 1947, this butterfly chair has become a modern classic. Composed of wonderful intersecting lines, this piece is a true hallmark in Modern design, and continues to look as cool as it did in the Mid Century. This particular piece is in a vibrant orange, which only adds to the look of the chair. Perfect for indoor or outdoor seating, this piece is welded together in the manner of Knoll versions, and the canvas make-up and color is consistent with the original line. The fabric is indeed original, and is in great condition for its age, showing some wear around the seems of the lower seat (image 5), as well as a small amount of fading; still, for canvas of this age, it looks wonderful. The iron body also shows some age, with bits of paint loss; like the canvas, however, the wear is completely age appropriate and adds only the slightest bit of history. Knoll has become one of the largest names in Mid Century Modern design, and this gorgeous chair represents everything that makes the company's work so revered. This Knoll chair stands as one of the monumental works in Modern furniture, and would look simply devestating in any space!
*NOTE: The chair cover is more orange than it appears in these photos. If you are interested in addition photos, please convo us!
