This fun gourd has been scallop cut and sanded smooth. The inside is painted bright grass green to mimic the rolling hills of the countryside. Iridescent beads are laced onto the gourd edges along with two hand hammered and worked thick copper wire. Two swallows (could they be barn swallows or purple martins?) are hung from the swooping copper wire reminiscent of their flight. The swallows have free movement and fly in the hillside of the gourd. Two copper leaves finish the piece. The gourd (from the top of the wire) is 6 3/4 inches tall and about 5 1/2 inches wide. Just give me the word and I will let these little guys migrate to your home!
