Bloom: Spring- Fall
Yes they're heirloom!
These elegant layered beauties have been homegrown in my grandmother's yard without chemicals or pesticides!
Double the petals for double the fun! These fantastic lacy poppies come in a variety of colors and drift in the wind like layers of lace. Perfuming your garden in double blooms( blooms in pairs) of red, pink, yellow, white, lavender, and orange, the poppies range from single colors to multicolored and attract tons of beneficial insects. No description needed- the pictures say it all!
Why have regular poppies when you can bling up your garden with these!?
Poppies are fragrant, gorgeous, and tolerate even the driest and hottest of conditions.
These poppies are an interesting perennial flower in that while they are native to California and other southwestern areas, they will overwinter in cooler gardens. Or, to be more precise, if happy in their garden setting they will self-sow.
Each delicate flower will grow approximately 12-18 inches tall and the flowers are roughly 2 inches across. Blossoms will open in the late afternoon to perfume your garden with their intoxicating aroma!
Poppy seed pods (image 5)are gorgeous in arrangements and offer their otherworldly and everlasting shapes to all sorts of bouquets. To harvest pods, wait until the flower seed pod has full dried after the flower petals have fallen off. Carefully cut the stem of the pod, careful not to spill any of the seeds. Empty the seeds in a container for replaying and keep the pod for decorative use! It makes a great magic wand for all your kids!
Each hand designed and child decorated packet contains at least 20 organic homegrown seeds! Each seed packet features it's own special image drawn by our residential little artists! We do not use pesticides or chemicals in our garden!
Shipping costs cover the base shipping and the handling- I had to harvest, dry, and clean each seed pod then pick ever single seed! Not easy!
WHY DOES IT COST MORE TO SHIP THIS POPPY SEED?!
Many many MANY apologies to everyone for increasing the shipping costs on certain seeds($1.50 to $2) . Due to the delicate nature of these small seeds and the careless nature of the post office, I am required to put extra padding and upgrade to First Class in order to keep these seeds from getting crushed! As much as I hate to hike up rates like a evil beast of money-mongering, post office policy mandates that I take precautions for certain seeds... and I want to make sure your seeds get to your garden as happy as possible!
So you can be as happy as possible, of course!
