The frame is gold plated / gilded, gesso on wood. Ornate ormolu corners hold the glass and the photograph in place on the front, like a 'floating' frame.
Tiny brads hold the ormolu corners in place, and you remove them to life the corners to insert your own photo, if that is why you want the frame.
About 11-1/2" high and 9-1/2" wide, holds an 7" x 9" photograph. All four corners have tiny-to-small chips, and the ridged or textured areas of the frame have minor gilt loss.
The top and right edges of the photograph may have sweated to the glass, at least for about 1-1/2" along the very far right center, if you look very closely.
As the frame is wood, a wire could be screwed on, or a mounting ring nailed on. For some reason there is a hole in the center of the heavy cardboard back.
As a Victorian or Edwardian decor item with a personal flair, this is hard to top. The frame is luscious, the children adorable, and the chair drool worthy!
