You get twelve 1/2 inch shank buttons. I used a high-quality metal shank button of the type that is pressed together with a tool. The wire loop at the back can be removed with pliers.
Care of these buttons is easy. If you sew them to a garment, machine wash in cold water on a gentle cycle, but do try to keep them out of the dryer if you can. It will not damage them, but they will last longer and stay prettier with line drying. So will your garment! (And you'll save on your electric bill too.)
Not for children under 3, and not in anybody's mouth!
Assembled with care at my house, where nobody smokes but there are two cats. (I don't let the cats make the buttons.) I always tidy up the buttons before sending. These buttons are ready to ship!
