the most stunning early 1950s dress I've ever found
the material is sturdy heavy cotton that has been painted gold
black butterflies, peacocks, antelopes, along with plants are scattered throughout with sequins sewn into the black figures. there is an enormous amount of sequins on this dress!
slight sweetheart bust with 3 spaghetti straps attached and slight gathering at bust
bust darts and princess seams to add even more shape
fitted waist with matching self-fabric belt
a full skirt with 126" sweep! would look even more fabulous with a full petticoat/crinoline, but looks amazing without, also.

*dress has not been professionally cleaned as I have not found a trustworthy cleaner. I have wiped it clean and steam cleaned it and is in great condition!

Condition: very good- small 1" repair on waist seam, but not niceable due to belt. sequins may be missing, but hard to tell due to the massive amount and if sequins are missing, it is not noticeable. sde zipper is missing teeth at the bottom. the zipper is stil functional, but can not be zipped all the way down because that's where the teeth is missing. if desired, I can replace the zipper for free. just let me know before I ship it if you'd like the zipper to be replaced. there is tiny darkening at the underarm area around the interior of the dress. this is very minor, but worth mentioning. The dress is still one of a kind and in wonderful condition.
This dress is simply the most amazing dress with all it's intricate details and painting.
