The Navajo pattern is a quirky legging/leg warmer inspired by the colorful landscape of the southwestern United States and the artwork of the Navajo people. Knit in a lightweight breathable cotton, these leggings are comfortable, soft and washable. They are perfect for keeping little babies’ legs cozy in the colder months or fashionably layering over tights of jeans for older girls.

The stranded color work chart is simple to read and follow and would be good as either a first color work project, or a quick and fun project for a more advanced knitter. This pattern uses 4 colors of Knit Pick’s Simply Cotton Sport, but multiple pairs of leggings can be made with those four skeins because of the minimum yardage that is needed (perfect for making matching pairs in different sizes!)
