This is your chance to commission your own miniature eye painting! Those of you that know me know that I very rarely accept commissions, so if you've ever entertained the idea of having a custom portrait made, here's your opportunity.
And now down to brass tacks:
This custom portrait will probably take around 8-12 weeks from start to delivery.
I'll require at least 2 or more photos of the face and detailed, close-up photos of the eye (and the area around it). Make sure the photos are at the angle you'd like the painting to show. I can work from black and white photos, but prefer color. A brief description of the person's character and personality is helpful too. I'm sure we'll exchange a few emails before I get started. Painting a portrait is a collaborative process, so your input is valuable!
I'll email a sketch for your approval before the actual painting gets underway, and also email you a photo of the painting as it nears completion, so any changes or alterations can be easily made.
This portrait will be painted on 2"x2" Strathmore illustration board and will be signed on the front and also signed, dated, and titled (if you like) on the back.
I do not offer framing, but can give you pointers on finding affordable, beautiful frames for your painting.
Once the painting is completed and dry (this can take a week or longer, depending on the weather) I'll ship it to you wrapped in a plastic sleeve and sandwiched between sturdy cardboard. I use bubble-lined envelopes to mail my paintings.
The first photo shows examples of eye paintings that I've already done, the second and third photos are detailed close-ups, and the last two photos show some of these pieces after they had been framed. I had a local frame-shop frame these and they were beautiful and surprisingly inexpensive.
If you want more than one portrait, just let me know and I can set up a reserved listing for you with the proper number of portraits. Each portrait is $150, but keep in mind that the number of portraits will affect the time-frame for completion, probably two additional weeks or more for each portrait added.
Please convo me with any questions! I'm sure there's something I've neglected to mention in this lengthy listing:)
