Rose Petals is named after the delicate pinks amid magenta, red, yellow ochre, and yellow in these two matching marbled papers. There is also a fine luminescent silver swirled throughout. Approximate dimensions are 10 1/2 x 15 inches each.

The last photo; Sally-Cally-Co puts the "pet" in Petals!!

Use marbled paper in any project for which you’d use decorated paper. Bookmarks, note cards, origami, scrapbooking, jewelry and box making, etc. Cut into small pieces, it makes delicious JOURNAL embellishments. Artists like marbled paper for use in colláge.

Marbling is done by floating dye or paint on the surface of water in a tank, and lowering a sheet of paper or fabric from above, making a unique, one-of-a-kind contact print. Tools may also be used to arrange the color into patterns before the print is made. Only one print can be made from each painted design. Each piece is completely original! There is no mass production, no photography and no digital treatment involved!!

All of my marbled products are made by myself and my teenage daughter Anna. An artist by nature and formal training, I enjoy the process of combining and manipulating color. With marbling, the colors, patterns, and working techniques are endless and never boring. Every marbling session is an adventure! Anna and I make marbled paper for the sheer pleasure and joy of creating beautiful things. We want others to enjoy our work for that same reason!

Our home has always been smoke-free and home to two cats. Fallen whiskers are traditional tools in marbling, and contribute to the intricate pattern detail.

• Each paper is at least 10.5 x 15 inches and not necessarily perfectly square. Dimensions vary by as much as ½ inch—I do not trim the edges, allowing them to retain their slightly ragged appearance.

• Papers are shipped flat or rolled. I won’t fold them unless you ask me to, in order to sometimes save on shipping costs.

• Paper is a medium-weight Japanese Masa. Texture is smooth on the front and slightly rough on the back. Deceivingly durable, Masa resists tearing.

• The use of acrylic paint also adds to the durability of this product. There is no sealant.

• All non-toxic and acid-free materials.

• Backside is bare, white paper with hand-written title and the artist’s signature (Anna’s or mine) in erasable pencil, plus our stamped contact information at bottom center.

• As with any humanly-marbled effort, some imperfections are visible on the front of the work, and stray paint can appear on the back of the paper. This is the nature of hand-made work. Though I offer only my better marbled papers, Anna and I are indeed…human.

• Patterns or colors don’t match your individual preference? Please look at the other sheets in the shop, or contact me with a special request. If I have what you want or can make it, I’ll offer it to you as a reserved listing.

• Feel free to contact me with any questions – I’m very interested in hearing from you.
