This is the tenth painting in my most recent series, started in September 2011. The series is done with poured acrylics and metal leaf. I exposed some of the metal leaf, allowing it to oxidize, and preserved the warm shimmery glow of other sections. This series was inspired by the series of political, economic and environmental cataclysms that hit in late August/early September and conveys heat, energy, and combustion.
The painting has several coats of varnish with UV protection, to protect the value of your investment. This piece is done in acrylics on museum-quality gessoboard, which mounted on a pale wood frame that shows on the edges. I have mounted this painting in a simple wooden frame with gold leaf that really makes the metal leaf pop!!
This painting was just completed in early 2012. This has been my most popular series ever - six out of the ten paintings have sold already!
