My family has had computers for decades, getting started doing genealogy. We would keep our records on the old 5 1/4” floppy disks. Even when the ‘standard’ 3 1/2” disk came out we still used the old ones that we had until we absolutely couldn’t have a computer with that sort of drive in it anymore. Consequently we have tons of these old disks just laying around with no use for them anymore. I decided to make some jewelry out of them, and feel in love with the texture they have.
This necklace loves to go out and play. She is constantly on the lookout for a party, and finds celebrations everywhere she can. She easily moves from her hiding place during the day to party hard at night. She always has to be the center of attention, making sure that everyone knows that she is there. She is bold and will shine whenever given the chance.
Built out of upcycled 5 1/4” black floppy disk, attached with a jump ring on a silver chain.
Approximately 18” (46 cm) long, charm 3” (8 cm). Lobster claw clasp closing. Can make to any length, put in notes to seller if you want something different.
