Mexican Folk at has facinated me since I was a child, I use to examine, imitate the images on knick knacks around the house. Now as an adult I love tattoo art that depicts Dia De Los Muertos art in a variety of styles. I've implemented these styles into my upcycled art. Here is an ordinary Halloween decoration that I've used as the base for my Calavera (Skull) art. Love Kills Slowly is 4"h x 3.5" W x 3" D, primed then handpainted details added with permanent india inks using Radpiograph fine point pens and Sharpie oil paint markers. Embellishments are sculped in polymer clay and attached with an impermeable epoxy based adhesive making virtually impossible to remove, once attached it's forever. My large Calavera pieces are finished on all sides making them an excellent piece to display on a coffee table or cabinet with mirrored back to allow 360 degree view. This piece comes with a battery operated flameless candle, plus a certificate of authenticity signed and dated. If you collect Mexican folk art this is a definate must for your display.
