I cut the midriff warmers from sweaters with plenty of elasticity so they will fit snugly at first, will stretch with wear to your size, and will return to their original size when washed. Please specify the size you would like when you order. If you’re in doubt about which size to buy go for the firmer fit.

NB. The haramaki in the image of it being worn, is different to the one listed here.
The benefits of keeping your mid-section warm have been long known in Japan where the haramaki (belly warmer) is a common item of clothing. Keeping your kidneys and other vital organs improves blood circulation to the whole body. The warmth it generates also eases menstrual and digestive discomfort.
While haramaki are traditionally worn next to the skin as an under layer ours is designed to be worn as part of a layered look, peeping out from under your sweater or shirt.
