Hard to imagine why Helene Curtis chose this cowboy hat for a promotional item. Perhaps, it was a giveaway in the Southwest. Whatever the case, I've never seen another like it! Several of these hats were made as souvenirs in the 40s and 50s. This one is clearly marked "Helene Curtis' Round-Up 1951". The look is spun copper with some slight spotting appropriate to age and material. Hat was naturally curved to allow for a cigarette on top. Small indentation to middle of top and three around base that were probably caused by emptying the ashes! Great green banding of paint underscores the logo!
Measures 7 1/2" x 7 5/8" ...larger than most that were made!
Great to give or receive!
