I love using leftover scraps of silk - I mean, I paid good money for it, it'd be a shame to throw it away, right? I was making random roses and decided to try to make a few of them into pins, just to see how they would look. I think they're gorgeous! Pin it to hold your scarf together - these are just MADE for those long scarves that are so hot this time of year. Put it on your purse for a sassy way to express yourself (not on leather, please - you won't get the pin marks out). Put it on a headband - do whatever you want with it!
The rose is made from high-quality dupioni silks in mauve and sage green. There is a sage green backing sewn to the rose to keep the stray threads in place, and the pin back is hand sewn securely in place with a doubled up length of thread. The pin measures 3 1/4" (8 cm) across.
