I call this Scrap Happy Scarf "Ocean Garden". It has a bright teal blue stripe of about 1-1/4 inches (3 cm) wide on one edge, with the rest of the crochet scarf made up of a variegated (multi-colored) yarn containing bright pink, medium-dark lilac, blue-green and bright blue. A freshly colored scarf that's great for muted, cool-toned Summers.
I designed this crochet scarf for those who, like me, often feel like they are choking when wearing a winter scarf. It's narrower than traditional scarves, as well as being light and squishy, making it more comfortable around the neck. Do keep in mind that it is wool and wool has a tendency to be itchy. If you have a sensitive neck I would recommend one of my cotton Scrap Happy Scarves, instead.
All my Scrap Happy Scarves are made by me. They can be constructed of left over yarn scraps, mismatched dye lots, that one remaining skein in the bin (that isn't enough to use for anything else), and, yes, the reclaimings of a project that has gone horribly wrong. Or all of the above! ALL YARN IS NEW! Even the reclaimed yarn is technically new as the never finished project was also never worn or used. Both the yarn and I were made in the USA. Just an FYI: because of the stitch used in making my Scrap Happys the ends have a tendency to curl. This is normal!
To care for your wool crochet scarf all you need to do is hand wash it in cool water, using a detergent made for wool. LIGHT AGITATION! Dry flat. An iron on the "Wool" setting may be used if necessary.
