Beautiful antique two-piece metal belt buckle, circa early 1900s. Features a beautiful ornate scrolling repousse design with 3 nouveau-style goddesses. Two plump roses rest on each side of the larger goddess in the center of the piece. The backside of the piece has a simple hooking clasp with 2 loops for attachment of a ribbon or belt. The buckle appears to be brass at its base with a silver-tone overlay. The metal has a lovely patina, timeworn and tarnished, with spots of brass peeking through. A bit of verdigris (green) on the metal as well, so it may need a delicate cleaning but I'll leave that up to you. The piece measures 11.5cm in length when connected and 5.5 cm at its widest point. I was told this originally came from the estate of a well-known opera singer. A gorgeous beautifully worn piece for display, collections, projects, and so on. This is a one of a kind piece here at Treasure Booth :)
