Heaven on earth! A late 1940s, early 1950s coat dress of lovely kitten-soft velvet in jet black, dressed up with scrolling soutache trim and gorgeous antique gold metal cage filigree ball buttons. Peter pan collar, dolman cut bodice with curved princess seams, 3/4 length cuffed sleeves, a wasp waist with hidden petersham belt, and a very full skirt that is lined in pellon. All those beautiful little buttons to close...all the way to the hem.
Can be worn as a dress or layered as a coat (it's unlined, but fabric is of a good weight and it's sturdily constructed). This style of coat/dress is one of the most coveted creations under the vintage sun!
Designer label is Lanz Original.
All accessories (belts, jewelry, crinolines, pins, etc.) are for style inspiration only unless indicated.
About a modern size S
Bust (underarm to underarm, measured flat then doubled): 37"
Length of bodice, shoulder to waist: 16"
Length of skirt, waist to hem: 29 1/2"
Excellent vintage shape with no noticeable flaws or issues that I could find. Jet black fabric. The topmost filigree ball button located under the collar is missing, but the collar snaps closed with multiple snaps, so it's not really needed.
