I started with a Guess brand vintage cotton western shirt in a blue and white stripe floral pattern that I cut into an asymmetrical cropped shape. Then I tore the remnants for a tattered, raw edge, along with other mens cotton shirt leftovers, strips of antique lace and vintage cotton crocheted lace doilies and sewed all the pieces back together into a reconstructed peplum and bustle style hemline. More bits and pieces of tattered fabric and lace were added to the shirt cuffs as well as to other areas of the blouse. Not quite done, I added a "belt" of recycled sari silk, swapped out all but 2 of the original buttons for a mismatched collection from my vintage stash and stitched down a lone fabric flower on the back shoulder blade.
The original shirt was labeled size medium and fits pretty true to size but please refer to the exact measurements (taken flat) to ensure a proper fit.
