This bright cobalt blue vintage hat is a mod cloche from the 1960s by Valerie Modes. The hat is 100% wool felt with blue cording stitched on in a curving pattern. It has a wide grosgrain ribbon with a bow in the back. There is a slight brim in the front and a tall crown--a great mod look in an unbeatable color.
Inside, the hat has a grosgrain ribbon band. It has a Valerie Modes tag as well as a Union label, and the top of the crown is stamped 100% wool, Glenover, Henry Pollak, New York.
The hat is in very good condition, with few signs of wear. I found three small moth holes on the wool, but they don't go all the way through and are visible only on close inspection.
Size: The hat measures 22 inches (55.8 cm) around the inside band. The crown is about 6 inches tall from the bottom of the outside ribbon.
