This includes the original oak box, which is rare in that it opens from the middle. It has ornately carved double doors fold to either side when on display or in use and one flat door on the bottom that is used as a shelf. The box has a cross on each door. Cloistered inside the oak box you will find 6 highly cherished ornate pieces used for anointing the sick or infirm, and used to allow the home bound and bedridden to partake in communion. All the pieces are quadruple silver plate and most are marked. The marks include "Sick Call Outfit, Special metal, Quadruple Plate, Homan SilverPlate Co., and Pat'd April '97" - Yes as in 1897.
The interior of the box is lined in a deep purple fabric, which does show its age. Inside is three ribbons to securely hold in the pieces, as well as two small silken fabric pockets on the bottom of each door. Please note, the fabric is old and shows age, the ribbons are loose, and their are two old "sashes" on the two doors. One sash is ripped and some of the ribbons are ripped as well.
In the box you will fine: two plates, one glass holy water bottle, lourdes water in a plastic bottle(full). The forefront of this set is the 13" tall and 8.5" wide crucifix and candelabra piece, which breaks down into two pieces.
This is an antique set, so it shows a lot of wear. Please, review pictures for more detailed informaiton. Feel free to email should you have any additional questions.
