Large Birch Bark Tree

Picture a snow laden evergreen - boughs weighted with snow. That's the image I had in mind when I constructed this sturdy and beautiful tree. Using your standard styrofoam form the tree was created with a decorative trim dowel for a trunk and a 5x5 square pine board to hold it steady. To this structure I added row upon row of handcut birch bark 'boughs' and used a vintage finial as the star and covered the base with preserved florist reindeer moss. The bottom of the tree base is covered in cork to protect your furniture.

This lovely little tree will be equally welcome in your home during the holidays or year-round. It's calm quiet nature recalls simpler times. This tree is nearly 26 inches tall and 6 inches wide and sure to find a special place in your home.

All natural materials used in this piece were collected from downed trees caused by Winter Storm Alfred (2011) and has been heated and dried for safety.
