This piece has been dated by it's original owner- a beautifully aged war bride with a heart of gold. This was her dress as an infant from about 1925 to 1926.
The dress is a creamy white silk, with accents of sheer lace around the bust, sleeves, neckline and hemline. The back has three buttons for a secure fit on any little one. Intricate pleated details help shape the bodice and skirt- and add a delicate contrast in shading and texture. A small ribbon origami flower adds the finishing touch at the left bust line.
Material: Silk / Lace
Shoulder to Shoulder: 8.5"
Dress is in great vintage condition. ** I recommend that this dress is preserved using professional methods. ** The silk and lace are both quite delicate and clearly aged. Some minor fading of color and a few stains have come about over the years. There is also one unfortunate tear in the bottom front hem lace. The lowest threaded loop for the back buttons has also come undone at one end. Some easy mending should care for it. Overall, this dress is outstanding. A dainty, angelic piece from the mid 20's! **Definitely not for a child's modern wear!**
