This shadow box diorama features a mist enshrouded cemetery with a skull faced ghost greeting all who enter the gates. She stands in a swirl of fog rolling out from the graveyard. I layered pictures of the cemetery over each other for a 3D effect allowing the gates to swing open. I altered a vintage photo to create the skull faced ghost woman. I lined the inner sides of the box in a decorative paper with ravens and owls in trees. I made a tree from clay and moss to stand in one corner. I added a cotton webbing that I tinted with ink to create the fog. The outside of the box is painted a matte black and the back has a torn and distressed tombstone paper with a skull picture over it. The outside edge of the box is covered in moss with a border of tangled tree branches and owls along the bottom edge. There is a black glitter skull on top of the box. The whole piece is attached to wooden spindle on a wooden circle base also painted matte black. This macabre piece of art is perfect for a mantle place, table, or center piece display. It will add the perfect touch of southern gothic charm to any room.
