Distressed red brass drops are treated with a blue patina and a light dusting of metallic powder to get the varied blue look of these earrings. Once the patinas have formed, we distressed the surface just a little bit more and then sealed them up tight with a protective sealant. They have a satin sheen to them and are smooth to the touch. The back of the earrings have the same coloration but a bit different distress pattern. They can be seen in the last photo. A light dapping gives the dangles a gentle curve.
The 52mm long drops hang from sterling silver wire "nests"; the silver is darkly oxidized, then lightly buffed to highlight their path. The silver wire nests hang from hypoallergenic niobium ear wires in an oxidized silver tone that matches the wire wrappings. From the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the drop is 72mm or about 2 and 3/4 inches.
