Individually beadwoven Red Tail Hawk Feathers flutter about hither & yon. Each plume is lovingly beadwoven with wee little glass seed beads of creamy, dreamy white, earthy deep brown and burnt sienna. They nestle ever so gently into creamy dreamy lightness of being in the hand-beaded "nest" of a thousand tiny beads:
-cream and ivory white
-copper shimmer
-golden tawny glow
-bits of moss green
A variety of these beads boast an AB (Aurora Borealis) sheen, when you see the light hit and bounce from these beauties, you will be awestruck!
Luminous white Freshwater "potato" Pearls are woven in round & round, evoking images of wee eggs secure and warm within the nest. Lustrous Freshwater Keishi Pearls sway on the breeze like downy plumage. Want proof that white light is made up of the full spectrum of colors, just lay your peepers on the fantabulous nacre of these pearls.
The Well Feathered Nest Necklace measures a collar bone kissing 18 inches and fastens with a button and loop closure.
The button is a luscious treasure in and of itself: a gorgeous Vintage Reproduction German Glass Rose in a warm glowing pale pink with golden shimmering accents.
All elements have been lovingly and meticulously hand beaded, stitched and woven for ultimate beauty, strength and longevity!
A Well Feathered Nest is my response to the Etsy Beadweaver's (EBWC) February Challenge theme, "Nest". You can lay your peepers on other entries by searching "EBWC" here on Etsy.
