Caring for gold plated jewelry:
Keep it out of soaps, water, and chemicals. When you are not wearing it, place it into a plastic zippy bag to prevent the metal from oxidizing. If you follow these two important steps, the gold plating will last for years.
Brass w/ 22kt gold plating will not turn black or tarnish. If it happens to come into contact w/ water or soap, overtime, the setting will have an antiqued gold look.
