Something Borrowed, Something Blue
Collecting the elements of this charming ring pillow was a walk through time. The quilt square is a hand-stitched piece from the late 1800/early 1900s, found in an antique store in Red Hook, NY. I discovered the hand crocheted lace trim there, as well. The vintage keyhole was scavenged to great effect.
I tea stained the blue silk backing. And to honor the seamstress who came before me, piecing together that beautiful quilt square, I chose to hand stitch everything else myself--the trim, the fabrics---everything. It is filled with a high quality environmentally friendly stuffing.
This lovely ring pillow is perfect for your rustic country wedding. Or maybe you are a little bit Victorian, or a bit of a romantic steampunk. Whatever your style, the pieces of this pillow are an enduring reminder of your special day. It is an heirloom to treasure.
Measures about 6" square. Including the lace, it is about 9" square.
