I machine quilted the quilt with Warm and White cotton batting, and stitched in a free motion, all-over loopy, swirly design with cotton thread. This complements the straight lines of the quilt very nicely and adds such pretty texture. The backing is a soft, delicate pink that matches the fabrics in the front of the quilt perfectly. The binding has been made double and stitched to the front of the quilt, then turned to the back and hand stitched down to finish.
I make all my quilts to be used and loved. When washing becomes necessary, this can be done in the machine with cold water and a gentle cycle. It can be dried by laying it flat, hanging it, or putting it in the dryer on a low setting. The quilt will pucker with the first washing, and become softer each time it is washed.
