These fabulous pieces were used in Victorian times as a combination sugar bowl and spoon rack, the spoons rested on the outside in their little hooks. The lid has a figural bird.
This piece is quadruple plated, and most of it is covered with a dark/black patina. Some spots of silver shine through.
The overall structure of the piece is good - with one dime size dent below one of the handles, and some minor nicks and denting to the rim of the bowl where the hooks are located (hooks are all in good shape). The lid fits nicely.
Stands approximately 9 1/2" tall, measured to the top tip of the bird. The bowl - without the lid measures approximately 6" tall. The widest point measures from handle to handle is approximately 7". The opening diameter of the bowl measures 3 1/2".
