The round earring face is genuine Japanese satsuma earthenware. It has the classic ivory buff color with the characteristic crackeld finish. No crackle? It's NOT satsuma. They have been hand painted in kiln fired enamels depicting graceful wisteria flowers and vines, all accented in genuine 22k gold. The shepherd ear wires are solid 14k yellow gold and the round pad they are attached to is rolled gold plate. The earrings started life as ladies clothes buttons between 1930 and 1950. The earrings measure 18.7mm in diameter and hang 1-1/4" long. They weigh 6.9 gram total. They are in perfect mint condition.
