This Rusty Pot Lid Round Birdhouse is constructed of colorful green and white beadboard, giving it a wonderful rustic and unique look. These boards were salvaged from porches and homes in the Port Deposit, MD area.
I found the pot lid somewhere in my travels, probably in the Philadelphia area. The edge has been rusted away, but the lid was destined to be repurposed into a birdhouse roof. It has a wonderful cast Iron handle. You just can't beat the character of this Old Iron! It is classic Any Old Iron stuff.
The squrrel guard is crafted of a steel spacer from an old piece of farm machinery. I also decorated the guard with six brass upholstery tacks. The perch is a cast iron, turn of the century, window shade hardware.
This is a fully functional birdhouse with easy clean out access.
Dimensions: 7” Round x 11” High
Opening: 1 3/8” Hole
Perfect for the garden, yard, or displaying in your home. Makes a wonderful gift for the avid birdwatcher or the lover of the old rustic look.
Any Old Iron seeks to bring new and useful life to the discarded, lost, and forgotten treasures. Scoured from the sheds, barns, garages, dumps, yard sales, and junkyards of eastern PA and artistically assembled to add a wonderful look to a classic design.
