This is the perfect necklace for the serious pressed penny collector! This pressed penny is from Disney World's Hollywood Studios in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. It features Ariel and say Hollywood Studios underneath her. It comes on a pure copper chain, which is about 18 inches long (although can be made in any length up to 20" upon request). As this design has been removed from the park (retired), I will not be able to make any more of this design. I only use pennies minted before 1982, which are 95% copper. Pennies minted since 1982 are 99% zinc and are only copper plated. Therefore, when they are squished, you can see the zinc throughout the design. Zinc doesn't polish very well either and tarnishes to a dark gray, which is quite visually unappealing. The last photo shows the difference between the 2 types of pennies. I also have the matching earrings for sale.
Looking for a different design? Just let me know! I have been collecting elongated coins for more than 20 years and am lucky enough to have access to hundreds of machines within easy driving distance. We also have annual passes to Disney World, so can get any of the hundreds of different designs offered there. You can see some of the available designs here:
