After years of collecting the ‘perfect’ hankies for a handkerchief quilt I’m releasing the ones that didn’t make the cut. These are all laundered and pressed handkerchiefs collected from junk shops, estate sales, tag sales and antique stores. Most, date from the 1950-1960’s – some more recent. I have tried to vet the hankies to eliminate those with stains, rips, holes or flaws. If any flaws exist that I can see I will point them out to you.

This collection is a grouping of 4 'rose-themed' handkerchiefs.

Descriptions from the main photo left to right:
(Left) 11-1/2" square with scalloped edge, cotton printed rose pattern in red, pink, burgundy, moss green and gray with a hand turned edge
(Left Center) 12" square with straight edge, cotton print rose pattern with 6 stemed roses in red and pink with green leaves and a yellow scalloped edge with white on white printed edge, machine rolled edge
(Right Center) 12" square, cotton print single yellow rose on white background with green detailed leaves, machine scalloped edge
(Right) 12-1/4" square, cotton with bold graphic rose print on bright green background with white and burgundy striped border. The rose is a single stem large cabbage rose in reds, pinks and burgundy and two-tone green leaves and thorned stem wrapped in a bright pink, red and burgundy bow. Machine rolled edge.

I hope you will enjoy these hankies as a reminder of a simpler past when drying tears was elegant and didn’t end up as a wad of wet paper shoved into your pocket or purse.
