After years of collecting the ‘perfect’ hankies for a handkerchief quilt I’m releasing the ones that didn’t make the cut. These are all laundered and pressed handkerchiefs collected from junk shops, estate sales, tag sales and antique stores. Most, date from the 1950-1960’s – some more recent. I have tried to vet the hankies to eliminate those with stains, rips, holes or flaws. If any flaws exist that I can see I will point them out to you.

This is a wonderful collection of jewel tone colored hankies with delicate embroidery.

Descriptions of each handkerchief:
1.) 9-1/4" square gold cotton hanky with light brown banding. Hand embroidered multi-colored floral abstraction in one corner. Hand bound edge. Wonderful!
2.)10-1/2" square mottled blue cotton hanky with delicate radishes embroidered in one corner in red, yellow and green. Double hand bound edge.
3.) 10" square lilac cotton hanky with embroidered multi-colored pastel floral abstraction in one corner. Double hand bound edge.

I hope you will enjoy these hankies as a reminder of a simpler past when drying tears was elegant and didn’t end up as a wad of wet paper shoved into your pocket or purse.
