You turn to your bookcase and search for the right spine.
Was it Shakespeare? Einstein? Asimov?
Ah, there it is . . . Da Vinci.
You tilt the spine of the book slightly towards you and then release.
As it falls back into place, the desk lamp behind you snaps on.
You glance around quickly to see if anyone saw the secret location of your light switch. All clear.
Now, it's time to turn to work on those secret plans.

This clever little device is the perfect gift for your favorite book-worm / secret-agent. It will turn his or her favorite hard-cover book in to a hidden switch worthy of any secret lair.
The device slips neatly inside the spine of most hard-cover books. The lamp (or other electronic device) plugs into the double sided plug at the end of the cord. Once the switch is installed, tilt the spine of the book (as shown in the picture) and then let it return to it's normal position on the shelf. This action triggers the switch that turns the light on. Each time the switch is triggered, the light plugged into the end of the cord will turn on or off. To turn the light on, tilt and return the book. To turn the light off, tilt and return the book again.
This particular model was designed to fit a hard back book which measures 6" deep from spine to the edge of the pages.
