I was inspired to create this tote when first came from this quote by Mahatma Ganhdi “There is not beauty in a finest cloth if it makes hunger and unhappiness”. And then I read an article entitled ‘Moral Fibre’ and it’s reference to a the town in Mexico that constantly has blue waterways from dying denim jeans for an American company, and the affect this is having on their livelihood… this made me think that we really do need to be more conscious of where the goods we are purchasing are coming from and the affects that the production of the goods are having on these communities. To ‘LIVE Consciously’ is something I myself aspire to. To read more about the inspiration behind this tote, visit my blogspot and read this post:

About the Tote:
This tote is in a slim lecture tote size, messenger bag style, it has two generous sized pockets, one on the front and one on the inside, the inside pocket also has a pen compartment, which is ‘must have’ for me in a bag. I also make this tote in a wider width and mini version.
The text on the pocket has been hand printed in a way to resemble a stamp, like one you would see on an military crate… as the statement is direct and straight to point with no messing around, I can only imagine commands given in the military would be much like this.
Mini tote size:
Tote size: width 6.75” height 9.25” depth 2.5” (width 17cm height 23.5cm depth 6.5cm)
Base size:
Height:
Handle length: from top of tote compartment one side to other.

All printed items in my shop are hand printed in short runs, using hand cut stencils… some are even four or more part prints, which take more several print sessions to complete. Each item is ‘one of a kind’ as no two prints ever end up exactly the same… in turn each have their own unique character.
