You never know what you'll come across at an auction, and sometimes it's an item from an old church. I would have bought the altar had I the room, but my husband is patient enough with my vintage storage as it is, and I want the marriage to remain happy. I don't know when this was made, but appears to be handmade. The interior felt isn't exactly straight and you can see the nails on the back. The top has some spots (please zoom in on second picture) and there is some minor wood chips, writing on the interior top, and it's not a perfect close, but it does close and works fine. The pictures give you a great idea on the condition. Wonderful unique item for your home library, or give your home office a more official look.
Width is 17 3/4"-length is almost 14." Thickness/top bottom as shown in first picture is 3." Please note, this is a heavier larger item and will be shipped ground.
