"Stairstep Quilts" features 11 fabulous quilts that are easy enough for new quilters to make. Design options will delight experienced quilters as well. Great "scrap-buster-no-thinking-required" version included too!

This is a 24-page pdf file filled with quilt photos, step-by-step how-to photos, fabric requirements, cutting and sewing directions that have been "sister-tested" and found to be easy to follow. Cutting info for using fat quarters and pre-cuts, and helpful time-saving tips I discovered while making these quilts. This is a no-stress zone!

Within 24 hours of purchasing this book (and usually much sooner) you will receive an email with an attachment that you will click on. Your book will appear and you can enjoy it instantly. Print it if you choose. Or you can save it and come back to it whenever you want. No shipping fee, no clutter, the photos look beautiful on your screen, all at less than half the price of a quilt book.

This book starts with complete instructions for a classic Stairstep quilt. Then we move on to versions with different strip widths, different fabric recipes, and then different step arrangements. There is an Amish style quilt, an asymmetrical setting, a version with unequal strip widths, a scrap quilt, a "modern prints paired with white" version, a hand-dyed version, solid color versions, blocks set on-point, a wonky improv version, a red and white version, and a retro quilt with humility blocks. Quick-reference layout guide too. Even a cartoon customized for us by humorist, machine-quilter and teacher Carla Barrett!

This book would be a great starting point for a guild workshop project. Each quilter could create her own unique version. Imagine the Show-n-Tell at the next meeting!

Written by Karen Griska, author of "Quilts From the Selvage Edge," published by the American Quilter's Society, 2008. Karen designs the Block of the Month for the Empire Quilters guild in New York City, and she writes a daily blog for quilters: www.selvageblog.blogspot.com. Karen has been quilting since 1966. She loves to design quilts and encourage quilters to have more fun with their quilting.
