This is something! Over 80 years ago, the New Deal programs were Roosevelt's responses to the Great Depression, and focused on what historians call the "3 Rs": Relief, Recovery, and Reform. The historical parallels are obvious with today's recession, making this 1936 campaign poster as topical as it is decorative. This is a large 12.5" X 17.5" poster that has seen it's share of wear through it's long history. You will see the poster's words "For President" and "Franklin D Roosevelt" were creased and folded under, probably for display. Add to that a few tiny rips along the edge,a water spot just above the 'for', a few trading stamps on the edges (?) and darkening around the edges as well as a general mellowing of the paper and you have a piece of printed paper that was displayed during "The Recovery" and has lived to tell the story.
