These small desert horizon studs were inspired by the flora of the New Mexico desert. Hand fabricated from sterling silver and gilded with 24 karat gold keum boo technique. The silver has been oxidized to add a wonderful contrast with the gold.

Keum Boo is an ancient Korean gilding technique used to apply thin sheets of 24 karat gold to silver, to make silver-gilt. The 24 karat gold foil is applied to the raised fine silver with heat and burnishing to produce a permanent diffusion bond.
