The rhinestone chain portion of the necklace is made up of prong-set square clear aurora borealis coated rhinestones. The larger faceted rhinestone in the center has more intense color, with an almost blue-green hue.
Although obviously vintage and most likely worn, this piece is in good condition. There is no visible wear on the gold tone metal on the rear side (as can be seen in the photo) and all of the rhinestones are intact, very clear and shiny. The clasp is a hook type and works well. The hook is meant to clasp over the links in the back.
The length overall of the rhinestone portion is 14 and 1/2 inches, which to me indicates that this is a 1950s era design when most necklaces were worn choker length. There is an extender chain portion, which allows this choker necklace to fit well on necks of up to 17 inches.
This is a lovely design and one that is obviously vintage for those of you who are collectors. It is not signed by any designer.
