This piece will be in the book Showcase 500 Beaded Jewelry: Photos of Beautiful Contemporary Beadwork by Lark Books to be published August 2012.
To create this piece, I made tons and tons of single color transparent hollow beads. Then wired each individual bead into it's own pendant. I then formed the sterling silver neck wire the pendants hang from.
The best part of this necklace is the versatility. Because of the way I constructed the neck wire, the pendants can easily be added or removed for the look you want. You can wear all the pendants on the neck wire and have a party on your neck. Or you can remove as many as you want for a sleeker or more professional look.
PLEASE NOTE: the lighting used to photograph this necklace may make it appear differently than in other types of lighting situations. I try my best to make the colors look as accurate as possible to my monitor's settings. The photos have been cropped so that the items appear larger so that you can see details up close and personal.
General Information regarding my lampwork beads: All of my lampwork beads are handmade by me in my home based studio in Indiana. Because they are handmade, there will never be a perfect machine made bead, but I do strive for perfection as much as I am humanly able. My beads have been annealed for strength in a digitally controlled kiln and the holes have been thoroughly cleaned of bead release.
