Kazuri History:
Kazuri was founded in 1975 near Nairobi, Kenya, by three women who organized a ceramic workshop and taught jewelry-making to disadvantaged members of the Kenyan society.
The term "Kazuri" means "small and beautiful" in Swahili, the language of Kenya. The Kazuri workshop currently employs over (340) women, mostly single mothers, providing them opportunity to support their families by creating these exquisite pieces of art.
These beads possess a lustrous look and glossy texture because each is hand-shaped, polished, kiln fired, hand painted then fired again.
I have retained the Kazuri given names of each bead style, rather than make an attempt to re-name them.

Kazuri is a member of The Fair Trade Federation (FTF) an association of fair trade wholesalers, retailers, and producers whose members are committed to providing fair wages and good employment opportunities to economically disadvantaged artisans and farmers worldwide.

You are going to LOVE the quality of these beads!
