These wine stoppers are like little pieces of art! Add an elegant touch when you serve wine to family or friends. 4" X 1 1/4". These make a wonderful gift! Each one is different and unique. This one has a green base and many dabs of different dichroic colors. Very pretty!
Dichroic glass’ most distinctive appeal lies in having different transmitted and reflective colors, both appearing as completely new shades. The transmitted color is that which we can actually see through the glass. The reflected color is what we see when light bounces off the surface. In dichroic glass, these two colors transform depending on angle of view creating a remarkable play of light.
Dichroic glass is created by the dielectric application of multiple layers of fumed metal oxides onto a glass surface accumulating to a thickness of three to five millionths of an inch. These metallic layers create an “interference filter” producing a dazzling rainbow of transmitted and reflected colors. The applied dichroic coating is permanent, chemically stable, and can be tempered or laminated.
I hand make all the items in my shop in my studio. I have 3 kilns, grinders, and tons of other tools to fuse glass and do metal work. Please visit often as I am always adding new items. If you see something you like, but would like a different color, just convo me. I am happy to do special orders.
